Auckland based Iconiq Fire Ltd is seeking for Passive Fire Installers

JOB PURPOSE

As an Installer, you will be responsible for executing high-quality passive fire protection installations and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You will work closely with the Site Supervisor to meet project deadlines, maintain safety and QA standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Passive Fire Installation & Compliance

• Install fire protection systems to industry and manufacturer specifications.

• Ensure 100% compliance with NZ Building Code (C/AS2, AS4072.1) and project requirements.

• Subject to Site Supervisor Audits to verify installations meet QA and client expectations. 

2. Leadership & Mentorship

• Support the Site Supervisor in as the installation team.

• Promote teamwork and professionalism on-site. 

3. Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving

• Develop an understanding of Passive Fire Productd Ryanfire, Hilti, Promat, Boss etc.

• Identify and help resolve installation challenges with the Site Supervisor

• Assist with QA app reporting to document completed work.

4. Health & Safety Compliance

• Follow and enforce WorkSafe NZ regulations and site-specific safety requirements.

• Ensure correct use of PPE, safe work methods, and hazard identification.

• Participate in toolbox talks and pre-start meetings. 

5. Productivity & Efficiency

• Meet daily and weekly installation targets without compromising quality.

• Minimize material waste

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

• Essential:

1) At least 2 years relevant experience

2) Problem Solving Attitude

3) Speak English 

4) Can follow instructions

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

1. Installation Quality & Compliance (Target: 98% QA pass rate, 0 non-compliance notices)

 • How to Achieve:

a) Follow manufacturer guidelines and NZBC requirements for installations. 

b) Conduct pre-checks and post-checks on all completed work. 

c) Ensure all installations are recorded correctly in the QA app.

2. Productivity & Efficiency (Target: 100% of daily/weekly installation goals met)

• How to Achieve:

a) Work closely with the Site Supervisor to plan efficient task sequencing.

b) Ensure materials and tools are prepared ahead of time.

c) Identify and address potential slowdowns before they impact progress

 

This is a full time and permanent position.  Work up to 50 hours per week with minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm. Pay rates from $28.50 to $35 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Saturdays maybe required on an occasional basis
