Future Time International Limited as Sushi Eden based in Auckland, is specialized in providing Japanese cuisine with sushi, deep-fries, noodle and donburi. We are looking for two cooks to join our awesome team.

You will be expected to work in one of our shops in Auckland, a minimum of 30 hours per week with shifts variable between Monday to Friday from 7a.m. to 2p.m. This is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $27.00-$30 based on candidates' experience and skills.

Job Description for This Position

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes including sushi (sashimi, nigiri, maki rolls) and hot meals such as udon, donburi, tempura, and bento boxes, using fresh seasonal ingredients.

  • Examine ingredients to ensure freshness, quality, and compliance with food safety standards.

  • Regulate and operate cooking equipment such as grills, ovens, rice cookers, and tempura fryers, maintaining correct temperatures for optimal cooking.

  • Season and adjust dishes during preparation to meet established recipes and taste standards.

  • Portion and plate food attractively, adding sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments as required.

  • Store food correctly in temperature-controlled facilities to ensure quality and safety.

  • Prepare meals to meet special dietary needs when requested.

  • Comply with all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times.

Key Requirements for Successful Applicants:

  • Must have at least one year’s work experience in cookery.

  • Having experience in Japanese cuisine is preferred. 

  • Relevant qualification or certificate is an advantage.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role.

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress.
