Position Overview

The Mechanical Engineering Technician supports engineers in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. This role involves hands-on technical work, including prototyping, drafting, troubleshooting, and quality control, to ensure projects meet performance, safety, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist mechanical engineers in the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and equipment.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Assemble, test, and modify prototypes and mechanical systems to evaluate performance.
  • Conduct inspections, measurements, and diagnostic tests on equipment to identify issues and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems and machinery.
  • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and other technicians to improve product design and processes.
  • Support quality assurance activities by conducting tests and recording results.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and logs.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards during all activities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or similar role.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on skills in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and compliance regulations.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and technical reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
