Champion Bakery & Cafe in Wellsford offers wide range of selection for breakfast and lunch. We currently look for a hardworking and reliable Baker to join our team. Working hours is from 30 to 40 hours per week. Pay rate ranges from $30 to $31 per hour. 

Suitable candidates must have the following skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 2 years (preferable 3 years) relevant work experience.

  • Able to start at 4.30am and available to work on weekends and public holidays. 

  • Physically fit for heavy liftings and tasks that requires physical strength.

  • Have strong multitasking and organizational skills.

  • Can work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibility and duties:

You will be responsible to bake a wide variety of items such as bread, rolls, pies, muffins, cookies, pastries, donuts, slides etc. and performs related duties. 

  • Check the cleanliness of food preparation area and equipment.

  • Check oven and equipment to ensure everything works well.

  • Check raw material quality, weight and measure ingredients. 

  • Knead, mature, cut, mould and shape dough or pastry for baking.

  • Prepare pastry fillings, sauces, cream, icing.

  • Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking time.

  • Glaze buns and pastries, decorate baked goods with cream and icing.

  • Create new recipes for seasonal menus.

  • Perform any other related duties as required.
