Hammerhand

As a Hammerhand, you'll play a vital supporting role on commercial construction sites in Wellington.  Working alongside skilled tradespeople, you'll take part in physically engaging tasks while growing your practical skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters and tradespeople with daily construction tasks on site.

• Load, unload, and manage tools, materials, and PPE.

• Help erect and dismantle temporary structures (e.g., scaffolding, work platforms).

• Perform basic carpentry and finishing tasks under supervision.

• Mix, pour, and spread materials like concrete as directed.

• Keep work areas tidy and safe, following all health and safety protocols.

• Operate hand and basic power tools as instructed, maintaining care and precision.

What You Bring

• Practical construction experience preferred—but keen learners with a great attitude are welcomed.

• Reliability, physical fitness, and readiness for hard mahi.

• A keen eye for detail and a safety-first approach.

• Own basic hand or power tools required.

• A positive, team-oriented mindset aligned with Rāranga’s values of respect, reciprocity, and growth.
