We are looking for 1 Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our friendly team, in a well established business located in Wairau Valley, Auckland.
You will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to perform on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $35.00-$40.00 based on experience and ability, as well as addition qualifications.
The job will require the candidate to maintain, test and repair diesel motors and other heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses.
· Inspects heavy vehicles to identify mechanical issues and determine the necessary repairs.
· Uses computerized diagnostic tools to identify problems with diesel engines and mechanical parts of heavy motor vehicles.
· Repairs or replaces faulty parts and components of motor vehicles.
· Performs routine maintenance tasks on motor vehicles, such as oil changes and filter replacements.
· Inspects and road tests motor vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy.
· Maintains, tests and repairs diesel engines and the mechanical parts of heavy motor vehicles such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes.
· Maintain detailed records of all work completed and parts used.
· Liaise with customers to provide updates and recommendations on vehicle condition and required repairs.
· Ensure all work is carried out to the highest safety and quality standards.
The right candidates must have
· Either have at least two years of relevant experience or NZQCF Level 4 qualification.
· Good communication and professional skills.
· Punctual, honest, reliable and hardworking.
· Keen to work well within a team setting.
· Great attention to details.
· Strong desire to learn new technology.
