Advanced Plasterboard Solutions Limited was established in May 2017 and specializes in Gib Fixing, Gib Stopping and Painting for clients in the Auckland region. We are currently seeking an experienced Painter to help ensure the smooth and efficient completion of all our projects.

 

The ideal candidate will be a deadline-driven painter with a keen attention to detail. Responsibilities include applying color theory principles to match shades, following written and verbal instructions, and using various tools to paint surfaces.

To succeed in this role, you should have excellent stamina, physical strength, and time management skills. The ideal candidate will also be able to understand clients' visions, follow directions accurately, and complete projects on time and within budget.

What we offer:

  • A Full-time permanent role - 30 minimum guaranteed work hour per week
  • Payrate: $29.66 to $35 per hour (gross) based on job performance
  • Supportive work environment, on job training to upgrade skills

Key Task & Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
  • Make on-site preparation such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
  • Selecting the correct tools and paints for projects.
  • Preparing walls and other surfaces before painting.
  • Mixing and applying paints, varnishes, and sealants for a lasting finish.
  • Covering exposed objects and surfaces.
  • Using fillers such as putty and plaster to repair cracks.
  • Collaborating with other design and construction specialists.
  • Keeping the workspace and tools clean.
  • Cleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when project is complete
  • Communicating with clients to ensure they're getting the look they're hoping for
  • Adhering to all health and safety standards, and ensuring all projects comply with regulatory and environmental regulations.
  • Any other duties the employer reasonably may require the employee to perform.

Requirements and skills:

  • At least 1 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Physical stamina and dexterity.
  • Strong attention to detail to achieve clean lines and an even finish.
  • Good color vision to accurately mix shades and match colors.
  • Time management skills to complete projects within designated timelines.
  • Knowledge of different paint types, tools, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of all the applicable health and safety standards.
