We are looking for Cook for a busy Restaurant in Wellington Region.  Great opportunity to work with a friendly team in a busy workplace.

Position Responsibilities

§  Preparing awesome ethnic meals and Tandoori foods for our customers.

§  Responsible to cook Indian curries and/or tandoori dishes

§  Preparing, seasoning, portioning and presenting the dishes as per the standards.

§  Prepare the gravies and sauces as per requirement of the week.

§  Ensure the food is presented and garnished correctly

§  Presenting dishes as per the requirement of the dish

§  Ensuring meals are delivered as per the standard to guests all the time.

§  Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements of customers.

§  Required to check freshness of food and ingredients

§  Help up with stock inventory and reporting it to the Chef

§  To preserve the food and freeze them as required

§  Maintain the temperatures of cooking equipment’s

§  Cleaning, maintaining kitchen and follow workplace hygiene procedures and regulations.

§  Must follow workplace health and safety procedures as per council requirements.

§  Train other kitchen staff whenever required.

§  Any other tasks assigned by the reporting person or Chef.

 

Candidate requirements:

·        3 years of relevant work experience or Level 4 qualification

·        Hold knowledge to prepare authentic Indian curry and tandoori cuisines including snacks

·        Flexibility to work within a 7-Days a week operation including split shifts

·        Willing to work on weekends

·        Be able to work in a team and take direction from supervisors

·        Have good interpersonal and communication skills

·        Have a can do attitude and good work ethic
