Job Summary: 

We, Oriental West Limited, are looking to employ dedicated and reliableAsianCuisine Chef to join us in Auckland, New Zealand, a large-format buffet restaurant opening Westgate, Auckland. This is a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment that will cater to up to 340 guests in the dining areaand60 guests at the bar.

∙ Number of positions for this job: 5 

∙ Employment type: Permanent 

∙ Days required: 5 days per week 

∙ Hours per week: minimum of 30 hours a week is guaranteed, maximumof 40 hours per week 

∙ Hourly rate: $29.00 - $32.00 

Job description: 

- Prepare, cook authentic Asian cuisine dishes as directed, ensuringthat the highest possible quality is maintained 

- Follow recipes and presentation specifications

- Plan menus with Restaurant Manager, analyze recipes to assignprices to menu items based on food, labour and overhead costs 

- Order or requisition food and other supplies needed 

- Preserve and store foodstuffs in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities 

- Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygieneand safety regulations 

- Manage the kitchen while the manager is away. 

 Job pre-requisites: 

- Relevant qualification in Cookery level 4 OR 2 years work experience as Chef or relevant is required 

- Making Asian food preferred 

- The ability to stand for extended periods. 

- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

- The ability to work in a team. 

- Excellent organizational and time management skills. 

- Excellent communication skills

- Available to work on weekends and public holidays if required.
