Job Summary

An Excavator Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery to excavate, move, and grade earth, rock, or other materials on construction and mining sites. This role requires expertise in handling various types of excavators safely and efficiently while complying with site safety regulations and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators to dig trenches, foundations, and bulk earthworks.
• Load and unload materials in construction and mining projects.
• Ensure accurate grading, leveling, and excavation according to project plans.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and report any hazards or equipment issues.
• Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and job instructions.
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, and other workers.
• Maintain logs and records of operations as required.

Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job

• Relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification, OR
• At least three years of working experience in relevant industry
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Attention to detail and precision.
• Good communication skills to liaise with clients and team members.
