Top Notch Brick and Block Laying Ltd are looking for enthusiastic and reliable 2 Bricklayers and 2 Bricklayer’s assistants to join our team in Canterbury Region.
Bricklayer Positions – 2
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Studying plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
• Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding for bricklaying tasks
• Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials and spreading layers of mortar to serve as base and binder for laying bricks and blocks
• Laying bricks in rows, designs and shapes, and spreading mortar between joints
• Embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar
• Checking vertical and horizontal alignment of brickwork
• Cutting, shaping and polishing stones and bricks using machines and hand tools, and shaping bricks to fit irregular spaces
• Repairing and maintaining bricks, cement blocks and related structures
• Designing and cutting monumental masonry and lettering
• Constructing walls using stone slabs and large masonry slab blocks
Candidate Requirements:

Skills & Experience:
• At least 2 Years Relevant Industry Work Experience OR Relevant level 4 qualification is required.
Hours and Position: -These are full time permanent positions with Minimum 30 hours + per week.
Hourly pay rate:
$28 to $32 per hour.
Bricklayer Assistant Positions: 2
Top Notch Brick and Block Laying Ltd are also looking for 2 Bricklayer’s Assistants to join our team in Canterbury Region.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools and equipment and transporting them around building sites
• Erecting and dismantling temporary structures such as barricades and scaffolding
• Mixing, pouring and spreading materials such as concrete, plaster and mortar
• Cleaning up work areas, removing debris, and performing minor maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Digging holes and shovelling excavated material onto conveyors, wheelbarrows and trucks for removal
• Preparing ground surfaces by spreading and levelling sand, gravel, or soil for brick or block laying.
• Supporting tradespeople by helping with alignment, positioning, and installation of bricks and blocks.
• Assisting in placing basic fixtures such as edging, paving blocks, or small structural fittings.

Skills & Experience:

Driving Licence Requirement:
As the role of Bricklayer's Assistant requires using work vehicle for travelling to multiple locations across Canterbury Region according to client requirements, Full NZ Class 1 Drivers License OR Equivalent International Drivers License with an ability to legally drive in NZ and obtain Class 1 License in New Zealand afterwards is required.
Hours and Position: -
These are full time permanent positions with Minimum 30 hours + per week.
Hourly pay rate:
$24.50 to $27 per hour
