Location of the job: Bay of Plenty  

Reporting to: Owner 

Hours of Work: A minimum of 30 hours per week and maximum of 40 hours per week

Pay Range: $30.00 to $36.00 (based on the skills and experience) 

We are looking to hire highly skilled hairdressers to provide various hairdressing services to clients based on their needs, specifications, and preferences. The hairdresser's responsibilities include providing salon services and treatment, greeting and welcoming clients to the salon, maintaining a clean and organized workstation and recommending suitable hair care products to clients. To be successful as a hairdresser, you should be detail-oriented and able to build rapport with clients. Ultimately, an outstanding hairdresser should be able to follow clients' instructions, demonstrate excellent communication skills and keep abreast of the latest hairstyles and hairdressing techniques. 

Responsibilities: 

Client Consultation: 

• Meet with clients to understand their hair care needs and preferences. 

• Provide advice on suitable hairstyles, colors, and treatments based on hair type and face shape. 

Hair Cutting & Styling: 

• Perform precision haircuts for men, women, and children. 

• Style hair for daily looks or special occasions, including blow-drying, curling, and straightening. Hair Coloring & Treatments: 

• Apply hair color, highlights, lowlights, and other coloring techniques safely. 

• Provide hair treatments such as conditioning, smoothing, keratin treatments, and scalp treatments. Hair Maintenance & Care: 

• Wash, shampoo, and condition hair before and after treatments. 

• Recommend proper hair care routines and products for clients. 

Chemical & Technical Services: 

• Perform perms, relaxers, and chemical treatments safely. 

• Maintain knowledge of the latest hair care techniques and trends. 

Customer Service & Sales: 

• Build and maintain strong client relationships. 

• Suggest and sell professional hair care products and packages. 

Health & Safety: 

• Keep workstations clean and sanitized according to hygiene standards 

• Handle hairdressing tools and chemicals safely. 

Team Collaboration & Professional Development: 

• Work closely with colleagues to provide excellent salon service. 

• Attend training and workshops to stay updated with industry trends.

Requirements: 

● Two years of work experience in the similar industry is required

● The ability to stand for extended periods. 

● The ability to work under pressure. 

● The ability to follow instructions. 

● Excellent organizational and time management skills. 

● Effective communication skills. 

● Exceptional customer service skills. 

● Patient and detail oriented.
