Crop Protection Systems have revolutionized horticulture by shielding crops from frost, hail, wind, and pests. We are looking for a motivated Netting Assistant to join our team permanently and full-time. This hands-on role involves working outdoors in Central Otago, constructing, and maintaining netting systems that protect orchards year-round.
In this role, you’ll assist with the construction and installation of netting structures. You will be responsible for:
● Reading and understanding plans and measurements for the construction of netting systems
● Selecting and preparing materials for installation
● Preparing groundworks in preparation for installation
● Operating power tools, hand tools and other equipment
● Operating the MAXI 640 Hydralada and other vehicles after receiving full training.
● Maintaining clean and organized worksites.
● Adhere to all safety protocols during installation and maintenance to prevent accidents.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have:
● Two years work relevant experience or a relevant Diploma Level qualification
● Good physical fitness and stamina for outdoor work
● Experience in labor-intensive roles
● Comfort with using tools and working at heights
● A positive, can-do attitude and ability to work well in a team
● Health and safety awareness
● A valid New Zealand driver’s license (advantageous)
● Be available for full time work - normal hours of work Monday to Friday between 7 am and 7 pm.
