Cleaning Supervisor – S & A Facilities Management Services Ltd

S & A Facilities Management Services Ltd is seeking a reliable and experienced Cleaning Supervisor to support and oversee day-to-day cleaning operations across multiple client sites. This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside the team, check standards, and make sure staff are carrying out their duties safely and effectively.

We are looking for someone organised, approachable, and flexible, who can motivate others and maintain good communication with both staff and clients.

Hours & Pay

  • Full-time, minimum 30 hours per week over 5–6 days
  • Flexibility to work early mornings (5am–7am) and/or evenings (6pm–9pm)
  • Pay: NZD $25 – $28 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise cleaners on site to ensure tasks are completed to company standards
  • Organise daily work schedules and assign cleaning tasks to staff
  • Provide on-the-job training for new team members and refreshers for existing staff
  • Check cleaning equipment is used safely and report maintenance needs
  • Monitor stock of cleaning supplies and request orders when needed
  • Carry out site inspections and follow up on any issues raised by clients
  • Ensure staff follow health, safety, and hygiene rules at all times
  • Support cleaners with practical tasks and step in when required

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Good communication and people skills to lead a small team
  • Flexible to cover extra hours when required, including early starts or late finishes
  • Able to respond quickly to site needs and help resolve issues on the spot
  • Positive and practical attitude, with a willingness to work alongside the team
