Full time permanent Mechanical Fitter required for our busy company. The minimum work hour will be 30 and maximum will be 45 per week. Hours of work are to be flexible to meet the operational needs of the Employer. These hours include Monday to Friday and Saturday Mornings on a roster basis. Candidates should pass a background check and must be physically fit. New Zealand citizen or resident is preferable.

Key Responsibilities

 ·         Responsible for applying the core principles of Fitting and Turning to manufacture plant and machinery components, ensuring high-quality standards are met within the allocated budget and timeframe.

·         Provide accurate and prompt feedback on work progress

·         Be able to read and understand workshop drawings

·         Work on overhaul gearboxes, drive motors, screw conveyors and pumps

·         Have the ability for operation of boilers and turbines

·         Carry out alignment of various items of equipment

·         Ensure good workshop practices, company safety policy and OSH requirements are employed, as per the company Health &amp

·         Safety Management Plan work within the company’s guidelines of the company’s quality assurance system, to ensure consistent high-quality products to remain up to date with the areas of Lathe and Mill operation

·         Team Player and willing to take on any challenge

·         High Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills

·         Good Numeracy, Verbal and written English skills

·         Strong work ethic, taking pride in your work

·         Able to work deadlines and schedules, and available to work overtime

·         Develop and maintain good staff relations

·         Develop and maintain good engineering standards in the workplace

·         Machining consumables and techniques

 

Job Requirements:

At least two years’ work experience related to the role.
