Pastrycook wanted

Work Location: Canterbury region

Employment type: Full time (guaranteed 30 hours / per week, Monday to Sunday), Permanent

Our pay: $25-$26 per hour depending on skills and experience

 

We are a well-established popular restaurant based in Christchurch. To enhance our team, we are now looking for 1 pastrycook to join our team. We are expecting someone who has attention to details, ability to multi task and be a proactive member of the team.

Ideal candidates should have at least 2 year’s work experience in cooking at commercial kitchen, or have a relevant level 4 qualification in cookery or equivalent certificates.

Tasks Include:

·       Carrying out regular baking and frying duties for pastry food

·       Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients.

·       Kneading,maturing,cutting,moulding,mixing,and shaping dough and pastry goods

·       Preparing pastry fillings.

·       Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times.

·       Preparing and making bake floss buns, cakes and pastry goods.

·       Decorating pastries using different cream, icings and toppings to ensure the presentation will be beautiful.

·       Taking out the pastry from the forms, trays, unloading the finished products

·       Monitoring stocks for baking ingredients such as flour and sugar and making appropriate orders within budget.

·       Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.

·       Managing and planning time and resources well
