Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications.

  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other materials.

  • Constructing, erecting, installing, renovating, and repairing wooden and other structures, fittings, and fixtures.

  • Installing flooring, wall cladding, windows, doors, and roofing components.

  • Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with building codes and health & safety standards.

  • Supervising and mentoring apprentices or labourers when required.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least two years of relevant work experience in carpentry or building.

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry (or equivalent overseas qualification) preferred but not essential.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, and materials.

  • Good physical fitness and commitment to workplace safety.

Terms and Conditions

  • Pay Rate: NZD $30.00 – $35.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience).

  • Guaranteed Hours: Minimum of 30 hours per week.

  • Location: Waikato Region (occasional travel to nearby sites may be required).

  • Employment Agreement: Permanent, full-time position under a standard individual employment agreement.
