Reporting Line
The Education Manager reports to the Director, whose remit is Academic Leadership, NZQA compliance and external liaison (partnerships & marketing). Your role is to own and optimise all internal operations, freeing the Principal to focus on strategy, regulatory stewardship and external engagement.

We deliver NZQA-approved English-language programs and customized training for international students from more than 30 countries. Key Responsibilities
Internal Operations & Administration
- Manage the complete student life-cycle (admissions, enrolment, orientation, attendance, assessment tracking, graduation and alumni follow-up).
- Build and maintain the master timetable, classroom allocations and relief-teacher rosters.
- Ensure 100 % data accuracy in the SMS for NZQA and related reporting.
Compliance & Quality Assurance Support
- Prepare evidence packs, self-assessment reports and moderation schedules on behalf of the Principal for NZQA audits and other related reviews.
- Monitor all policy updates from NZQA, the Education Code and Immigration instructions; brief the Principal and implement required changes.
Staff & Resource Coordination
- Supervise the Student Services and Administrative Assistants; set KPIs and conduct performance reviews.
- Manage suppliers (printing, textbooks, online platforms, excursions) and maintain asset registers for IT and classroom resources.
Student Welfare & Incident Management
- Oversee orientation, academic counselling, attendance interventions and critical-incident response.
- Ensure emergency procedures are current and tested; manage student fee protection and refund processes.
Financial & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare operational budgets and report variance to the Principal monthly.
- Analyze student feedback and graduate outcomes to recommend program enhancements.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualification (master or higher) in Education, Business/Administration, Social Sciences, STEM or related field.
- Minimum five years’ leadership experience in an academic, training, university or large-scale service organization, with proven success in:
– operational design and continuous improvement,
– stakeholder and resource management,
– regulatory or quality-assurance compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to secure and administer significant external funding, grants or large project budgets.
- High-level competence in office productivity suites and student/learning-management or similar administrative platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is advantageous.
Desirable Attributes
- Post-graduate study or professional experience in Educational Leadership, Project Management or Quality Assurance.
- Experience in international education, cross-cultural settings or partnership development.
- Record of launching revenue-generating training or outreach program.
- Familiarity with New Zealand’s education, immigration or pastoral-care regulations.
- Strong organisational and event-management background.
