Excellent opportunity to join a successful and well-established Auckland­ based construction company and become a part of a great team. We are recruiting 2 full-time carpenters to join our team. 
You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week with the following tasks: 

•    Assisting Construction Managers, Architects, and Surveyors by interpreting plans and contributing to the execution of structural and architectural designs.
•    Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, building codes, and specifications to guide carpentry work.
•    Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and other construction materials to build frameworks, structures, and fittings.
•    Modifying and adjusting building plans and layouts on-site as necessary to meet specifications or respond to unexpected conditions.
•    Coordinating work schedules and collaborating with other trades to ensure smooth project progression and timely completion.

•    Inspecting completed structures and components to ensure compliance with building codes, specifications, and safety standards.
•    Estimating material requirements, labour needs, and project timeframes based on technical drawings and site conditions.
•    Taking precise measurements and laying out construction elements using levels, plumb bobs, and other hand and electronic tools.
•    Performing routine calculations and construction layout tasks to ensure accuracy in building and fitting operations.
•    Any other relevant duties assigned by the employer.

 

You are required to have:

•    Minimum one year of work experience in the construction industry,
•    or, a relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or above. No specific major is required if you have a bachelor's qualification or above.
•    Valid driver's license and willingness to work at various construction sites
•    Physically fit and capable of taking heavy duties
•    Clean criminal record
