We are looking for slaughtermen for our meat processing plant in Te Kuiti for the upcoming season.

This hands-on role is worked between the ordinary hours of 5.20am - 7.00pm.  Exact hours may vary depending on the time of year.  

Working week will consist of a 4 day on/2 day off rostering shift over 7 days

Production rates start from $27.50 per hour plus allowances.  Overtime rates apply.

The essential tasks and responsibilities of the job are:

  • Stun and kill livestock
  • Prepare carcasses for further processing by removing head meat, internal organs, and skins.
  • Adhering to health and safety and food regulations.
  • Cleaning and sanitising equipment and work areas.
  • Other associated tasks as required.

You must have:

  • 1 year of experience in the meat processor industry will be helpful, but not essential.  
  • Knife handling and sharpening skills.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing and able to follow workplace health and safety rules.
  • A high level of physical fitness and the ability to stand on your feet for prolonged periods of time.   

Non-production rate of $23.50 per hour.
