We are seeking a Junior Web Developer to join our company, which imports bakery equipment for commercial clients. This permanent, full-time role guarantees 30 hours per week. The developer will help design, develop, and maintain our website and e-commerce platform for commercial and individual customers. Candidates should understand e-commerce and basic import/export processes, including customs and logistics.

Our primary clients are commercial businesses, including bakeries, cafes, and restaurants across New Zealand. We operate local warehousing and logistics services to ensure efficient storage and timely delivery to our clients.

  • Importing professional bakery equipment from China for commercial clients.

  • Providing local warehousing and logistics support for fast and reliable delivery.

  • Supplying baking tools and equipment to cafes, bakeries, and restaurants.

  • Developing an e-commerce platform for online product browsing, ordering, and payment.

  • Expanding into online retail for individual/home customers, offering both commercial and home-use bakery equipment.

Key Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining the company website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or CMS platforms.

  • Support the integration of online ordering, payment, and customer management functionalities.

  • Update website content regularly, ensuring product catalogue, pricing, inventory, and logistics information is accurate.

  • Assist in optimising website functionality and user experience based on feedback and usage data.

  • Troubleshoot minor technical issues under guidance.

  • Collaborate with business operations to ensure the website aligns with company growth strategies and import/export procedures.

  • Apply knowledge of e-commerce and customs/import processes to support online retail business.

Work Days: Monday to Friday, standard business hours; no regular weekend or rotating shifts.
Work Location: Based at the company office/warehouse in Christchurch. No travel required for business purposes.


Minimum Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Basic knowledge of web development languages or CMS platforms (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.).

  • Ability to perform the duties of the role.

  • Some understanding of e-commerce processes and import/export/customs operations.

  • Willingness to learn and develop in the role.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Note: This is an junior position. Prior work experience is not required, but candidates must be able to competently perform the duties of the role.


Salary & Conditions

  • Guaranteed salary: NZD 35–38 per hour, in line with market rates.

  • Permanent, full-time role with 30 guaranteed hours per week.
