We are now looking for experienced painters to join our team in Auckland. Your role is crucial in transforming spaces and delivering both practical and aesthetic benefits to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and implement work orders, assignments, and project specifications.
- Read blueprints and instructions to assess project requirements and surface conditions.
- Calculate and prepare the required materials for each job.
- Set up scaffolding, ladders, ventilators, and other safety equipment to ensure a secure work environment.
- Conduct on-site preparations, including covering trim, floors, furniture, and fixtures with masking tape, drop cloths, or other protective coverings.
- Remove old paint, wallpaper, and finishes using scrapers, chemical compounds, or heat tools.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, filling holes and cracks with putty, sanding, and sealing as needed.
- Mix and match paint, stains, and finishes to achieve the desired color, texture, and consistency.
- Apply primer, paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
- Perform touch-ups and match paint samples for repairs and refinishing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cleaned and stored after use.
- Follow all workplace health and safety regulations to minimize hazards.
- Perform any additional tasks as reasonably requested by the employer.
Pay rate
- Minimum $30/hour, maximum $34/hour
Guaranteed hours of work per week
- Permanent, fulltime, minimum 30 hours per week
Requirements for the job
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is a must
- Physically strength, stamina and dexterity
- Good colour vision and aesthetic instincts
- Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Fulltime availability between 8AM to 4.30 PM from Monday to Friday
- Be flexible working on weekends and holidays for some projects.
