We are looking for 2x Cooks for a busy Restaurant in Waikato Region. Great opportunity to work with a friendly team in a busy workplace.
Job Responsibilities:
- Making delicious ethnic curry dishes and Tandoori dishes for our consumers
- Making the food according to standards for preparation, seasoning, portioning, and
presentation - Following recipes while weighing, measuring, mixing, and making food
- Plate presentation and garnishing
- Prepare the gravies and sauces in accordance with the week's demands
- Inspecting stored and chilled ingredients for freshness and quality
- Control the temperatures of the cooking appliances - tandoor ovens
- Preparing meals to satisfy consumers' specific dietary needs
- Always keep your hygiene in check to avoid any health hazards
- Manage food safety in the kitchen by following all relevant parts of the Food
control Plan - Cleaning the kitchen and following workplace hygiene procedures and regulations
are important in keeping the workplace clean. - Ensure that mandatory and voluntary compliance activities in the kitchen are
completed - You must follow workplace health and safety procedures to avoid injury
- Ensure Health and Safety is addressed in day-to-day activities
- Train other kitchen workers as needed
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate must have experience of 3 years in tandoor &
Curry section, marinating of meats and cooking Indian breads or Level 4 Qualification - Able to work on weekends and public holidays
- Flexibility to work any of the 7 days during the week as per the roster
- Able to take up split shifts
- Working well under pressure and within the time limit
- Able to work unsupervised
- A passion for hospitality and a willingness to contribute to the team’s success
