Key ResponsibilitiesÂ

Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of dishes to meet menu requirements and customer expectations.

Develop and plan menus, including seasonal or special menus, ensuring variety, creativity, and cost-effectiveness.

Estimate food and labour costs and manage stock levels by ordering and monitoring supplies.

Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow during service.

Maintain high standards of food quality, portion control, consistency, and presentation across all dishes.

Implement and monitor strict compliance with food hygiene, safety, and storage standards in accordance with New Zealand food control plans.

Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance to support their development.

Monitor and control waste, ensuring efficient use of ingredients to meet profitability and sustainability goals.

Work collaboratively with management to maintain customer satisfaction and contribute to continuous improvement of kitchen operations.
