Job Title: Coolstore Operations Coordinator

About the role
CentralPac Ltd is seeking a Coolstore Operations Coordinator for the 2025-26 cherry harvest season. This fixed-term position is responsible for overseeing all coolstore and dispatch operations, including on-site and off-site facilities. The role has a strong focus on cool-chain management, dispatch logistics, and staff supervision, and is directly influenced by seasonal conditions, weather, and crop maturity.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily coolstore and dispatch operations, including on-site and offsite coolstore facilities, ensuring efficient workflow, cool-chain compliance, and product quality
- Manage temperature controls, storage conditions, and dispatch schedules for outgoing fruit, coordinating pickups and deliveries with logistics personnel
- Lead and supervise the coolstore team, including the 2IC and seasonal staff; manage rosters, provide training, and monitor performance
- Maintain accurate operational records, including shipment documentation and temperature logs
- Liaise with Packhouse Management and other departments to align dispatch priorities with production and shipping schedules
- Conduct quality and compliance checks to ensure adherence to food safety standards and organisational policies
- Promote and enforce health and safety practices, completing hazard assessments and reporting as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for coolstore and dispatch operations to optimise efficiency, compliance, and quality outcomes
Minimum requirements
- At least 2 seasons (five months) experience in a relevant role
- Strong knowledge of cool-chain requirements, fruit storage standards, and food safety processes
- Experience with dispatch documentation and inventory management
- Skills specific to the understanding of cherry fruit management and handling
- Supervisory experience managing seasonal staff in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills for managing teams and coordinating with transport operators and management
- Familiarity with health and safety requirements in packhouse or coolstore environments
- Preferable experience with FreshPack Software
- Current forklift license
Job Details
Term: fixed-term, 17 November 2025 – end of harvest or 28 February 2026 (whichever is sooner)
Pay Rate: $36 per hour
Hours: Depending on harvest conditions, minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 50 hours per week hours of work will be per a roster Monday to Sunday between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm. You may be required to work Statutory Holidays and must be available to work the whole harvest period.
