About the Role

You’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for picking, preparing, processing and packing fresh fruits and vegetables to meet customer orders.

Location: Ihumātao Road, Māngere
Start Date: Immediate
Days: 6 days/week (Saturday off)
Positions Available: 2

Role 1 – Permanent, Full-Time

  • Position: Prepared Produce Assistant
  • Shift: Morning (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)

Role 2 – Fixed-Term (Parental Leave Cover)

  • Position: Produce Assistant
  • Shift: Evening (4:30 PM – 01:00 AM)
  • Fixed term: Oct 2025 – Mar 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Picking, weighing, and packing fresh produce orders
  • Assisting with dispatch and inventory restocking
  • Operating machines to peel, core, slice, and dice produce
  • Cleaning and processing fruits and vegetables
  • Inspecting product quality before packaging
  • Receiving and storing goods
  • General housekeeping and maintaining a clean work environment
  • Adhering to strict food safety and health & safety protocols
  • Performing heavy lifting (up to 20kg)

Work Environment

This is a manual, hands-on role in a temperature-controlled (cold) environment, requiring dexterity, physical fitness, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.

About You

We’re seeking reliable, hardworking individuals who can work independently and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in fresh produce, warehousing, or pick-pack roles
  • Previous work in chiller or depot environments
  • Reliable transport and flexibility with working hours
  • Clear communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Dexterity and attention to detail for handling produce and machinery
  • Knowledge of basic food ingredients and NZ work experience
  • Intermediate literacy and numeracy skills
  • Forklift license (advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of food quality, health and safety requirements
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately, and consistently
  • Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
