We are part of Fairview Aluminium Windows and Doors which is a leading brand in the industry of aluminium window and door manufacturing and installation. We are based in Auckland and provide quality customised services in Auckland Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas.
Currently, we are looking for Metal Machinists to assist our team in setting up and operating machine tools in the workshop.
Your Duties:
· Work closely with team members in the workshop and other departments within the company to meet production deadlines and quality standards
· Set up and operate machining tools (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) to fabricate metal parts according to specifications.
· Study and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine the suitable materials, methods, and sequences of operations.:
· Install or fit fabricated metal parts into products and assemble subassemblies to produce high-quality machines and equipment.
· Inspect fabricated and assembled parts for accuracy and fit using precision measuring instruments, ensuring adherence to specifications.
· Diagnose faults in machinery, perform operational maintenance, and carry out repairs on mechanical parts and equipment.
· Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
· On site assembly may be required such as erecting and installing machines and equipment with team members at the job site
· Any other tasks that are reasonably required by the employer
Requirements for this role:
· A relevant tertiary qualification at NZQF Level 4 or higher, or at least two years of relevant work experience
(Fields of relevance may include: Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electric Power, Power Systems, Machine Operating or other related areas)
· Strong skills in planning and execution
· Clean police record
· Drug free
