Lakes Honda Rotorua is a leading motorcycle dealership and service centre located in the heart of the Bay of Plenty. We specialise in Honda motorcycles (but service a variety of brands), servicing, repairs, accessories, and parts for road, off-road, and farm bikes. With a reputation built on quality service, reliability, and expert knowledge, we are expanding and seeking a qualified Motorcycle Mechanic to join our passionate and professional team.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role, that will work a minimum of 30 hours each week up to 50 hours each week. You will be working between the hours of 7.30am and 6pm between Monday and Friday. This role will be paid between $29 and $36 per hour depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of motorcycles (road, off-road, ATV, and farm bikes), primarily Honda. (but not limited to)
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake adjustments, chain and sprocket replacements, etc.
  • Carry out engine rebuilds, suspension servicing, and electrical diagnostics as needed.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and safety checks on new and used motorcycles.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete job cards to a high standard.
  • Ensure workshop cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with the parts department and service advisors.
  • Assist with customer service and provide expert mechanical advice when required.

Skills & Experience Required:
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience as a motorcycle mechanic or technician or relevant experience.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience working on Honda motorcycles is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and manage workloads efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good understanding of workplace safety and workshop best practices.
  • Valid motorcycle licence (NZ Class 6 or international equivalent).

Must be able to provide verifiable references and a detailed employment history.
