Untouched World is a Luxury New Zealand lifestyle brand based on an ethos of environmental and social sustainability, enduring quality, and inspired design. We are seeking three dressmakers to join our awesome team. 

You will be based at our Christchurch premises and are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during standard business hours. There may be occasional opportunities for additional work on Saturdays. This is a permanent, full-time position, with an hourly pay rate of $28.00 to $30.00, depending on your experience and skill level.

Job Description for this Position

  • Consulting with designers to determine material, styles and designs of garments

  • Interpreting designs and samples to determine pattern specifications

  • Cutting out patterns

  • Laying up and cutting fabric

  • Pinning, basting, and draping garment parts

  • Linking on headbands, seaming of garments as well as cuff and welts on linker machine

  • Construction of garments using a variety of machines

  • Inserting zips

  • Fitting garment against production size charts

  • Have the ability to use different machinery within our production area. eg Sewing buttonholes, buttons, and any fastenings required to the finish garment

  • Pressing and finishing of the garment on completion

Key Requirements for Successful Applicants

  • At least two years of experience as a dressmaker or similar is required

  • Relevant qualification or certificate is an advantage.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress. 

  • Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
