Position Available: Forestry Worker

Location: Tararua
Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience.
    OR
  • Level 2 or higher qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain forestry tools, chainsaws, and equipment.
  • Assist with pest and weed control to protect forest health.
  • Carry out site preparation and post-harvest clean-up activities.
  • Identify and report signs of disease, pest infestation, or environmental hazards.
  • Load and transport logs and forestry materials using appropriate machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily tasks, site conditions, and productivity.
  • Follow environmental and safety protocols, including use of PPE.
  • Support erosion control and land rehabilitation efforts.
  • Participate in fire prevention and emergency response drills.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet project goals.
  • Attend training sessions to improve skills and ensure compliance with industry standards.
