Ocean Seafood Restaurant is a busy Chinese restaurant in Invercargill, we are looking for a full-time Chinese cook who specialising in Chinese cuisines and recipes to join our Kitchen team. This is a full time position, you will work 40 hours per week, with hourly rate of $28-30.

Key Duties include:

· examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

· regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

· preparing and cooking food

· seasoning food during cooking

· portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes

· storing food in temperature controlled facilities

· preparing food to meet special dietary requirements

· plan menus and estimate food requirements

· train other kitchen staff and apprentices

 We expect the candidates to have:

· At least 1 year work experience in cooking Chinese cuisine or a relevant qualification at NZQF level 2

· Have the skills and knowledge to operating Chinese wok and knife 

· Flexibility to work on weekend and night shifts, overtime may be required

· Drug free with a clean police record
