We are seeking a motivated Web Developer to build and maintain our new e-commerce platform. You’ll develop website features that connect online ordering, payments, inventory, and customs documentation systems. This is a great opportunity to apply both your web development skills and knowledge of international trade to help drive our digital business growth.

About Us

We are a New Zealand-based company specialising in the import and distribution of high-quality bakery equipment from China. Our primary clients are commercial businesses, including bakeries, cafes, and restaurants across New Zealand. We operate local warehousing and logistics services to ensure efficient storage and timely delivery to our clients.

We are now expanding into online retail and e-commerce, developing a platform that will directly support both commercial and individual/home customers. To support this long-term business expansion, we are hiring one Web Developer.

  • Develop and maintain the company’s e-commerce website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or CMS platforms.

  • Implement and maintain online ordering and secure payment systems.

  • Integrate e-commerce workflows with inventory, warehousing, logistics, and customs documentation modules to ensure the system can generate and manage data required for import/export compliance (without directly handling customs clearance operations).

  • Build and maintain product catalogue, pricing, and stock information modules in the system to ensure accuracy.

  • Monitor website performance, security, and usability; optimise functionality and user experience based on analytics and feedback.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating complex problems as required.

  • Collaborate with operations staff to ensure technical workflows support international trade procedures, without directly handling logistics or sales operations.

Minimum Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Experience (or verifiable project work, e.g. graduation project) in website or e-commerce platform design and development.

  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or CMS platforms.

  • Understanding of e-commerce workflows, online transaction processes, and digital supply chain integration.

  • Sound understanding of international trade and customs clearance processes is required to design and implement e-commerce system features supporting import/export operations.

  • Ability to read and accurately process product specifications or customs information in Chinese will be considered an advantage.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Salary & Conditions

  • Guaranteed salary: NZD 33–38 per hour, in line with market rates.

  • Permanent, full-time role (minimum 30 hours per week; typically 30–40 hours depending on business needs).
