Service Foods Christchurch is seeking a hands-on Butchery Manager to oversee our butchery division, ensuring top-tier product quality, operational efficiency, and team performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage daily meat and poultry processing, packing, and picking.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and CFCP procedures.
  • Lead inventory control, supplier coordination, and equipment maintenance.
  • Oversee meat ordering, stock take processes, and product rotation.
  • Hire, train, and develop a high-performing butchery team.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, and Compliance teams.
  • Support rostering, leave management and reporting functions.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and product development.
  • Liaise with Sales and GM to plan around volume forecasts, promotions, and clearances
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance

 What You’ll Bring

  • Trade qualification or 3+ years’ experience in butchery or operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and admin systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
