We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our private business based in Auckland. The ideal candidate will bring around either a minimum of 3 years of progressive expertise in accounting, finance, and administration, with proven skills in financial reporting, tax compliance, payroll, and internal controls OR a Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance or equivalent relevant qualification.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Prepare and lodge monthly GST returns and PAYE submissions in compliance with IRD
requirements.
Administer payroll, including KiwiSaver contributions and employee leave entitlements.
Manage company credit card expenses, bank reconciliations, and general ledger
transactions.
Oversee tenancy agreements, trust account, and rental property records (experience in
property management an advantage).
Produce monthly management reports, including cash flow, profit and loss statements,
and year-end financials.
Maintain robust internal control systems in line with New Zealand financial reporting
standards.
Support audits and liaise with external tax advisors to ensure adherence to NZ tax
regulations.
Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, invoicing,
payments, and reconciliations.
Required Skills and Attributes:
Strong proficiency in accounting software including Xero and Resly.
Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand accounting standards, tax regulations, and
payroll processes.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively within culturally diverse and fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Experience:
Previous accounting experience in New Zealand is highly desirable, ideally in private
businesses or property management.
International experience is a plus, with familiarity in handling multi-jurisdictional
accounting and finance operations.
Demonstrated capability in financial statement preparation, regulatory reporting, audit
support, and financial process improvements.

This is a full-time permanent position with a minimum of 30 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week. Pay rate for this position will be 35.50 NZD per hour.
