Position: Site Manager

Key Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee daily operations of kiwifruit orchard sites
  2. Supervise and coordinate field staff and contractors
  3. Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with orchard standards
  4. Manage schedules for pruning, thinning, harvesting, and spraying
  5. Conduct health and safety briefings and enforce safety protocols
  6. Maintain records of staff attendance, productivity, and site activities
  7. Liaise with Orchard Manager and clients regarding progress and issues
  8. Assist with training and onboarding of new staff
  9. Ensure equipment and tools are used safely and maintained properly

Position: Forklift Driver

Key Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operate forklifts to transport kiwifruit bins and pallets
  2. Load and unload trucks and trailers safely
  3. Stack and store produce in designated areas
  4. Conduct pre-operational checks and report faults
  5. Follow site traffic management and safety procedures
  6. Assist with bin placement and retrieval during harvest
  7. Maintain cleanliness and order in forklift operating areas
  8. Record movements and inventory as required
  9. Support packhouse or orchard teams during peak periods

Position: Agriculture and Horticulture Technician

Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour
Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience or Level 4 or higher qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitor kiwifruit crop health and growth stages
  2. Conduct pest and disease scouting and reporting
  3. Assist with soil and leaf sampling for nutrient analysis
  4. Support irrigation and fertigation scheduling
  5. Record data on crop performance and treatments
  6. Apply sprays and treatments as per orchard plan
  7. Assist with pruning, thinning, and canopy management
  8. Maintain compliance with GAP and biosecurity standards
  9. Collaborate with Orchard Manager on technical improvements

Position: Orchard Manager

Number of Positions: 1
Location: Katikati, Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $38 – $45 per hour
Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience or Level 4 or higher qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage overall operations of kiwifruit orchards
  2. Develop and implement seasonal work plans
  3. Supervise site managers and field teams
  4. Monitor orchard performance and crop yields
  5. Ensure compliance with industry standards and audits
  6. Manage budgets, procurement, and resource allocation
  7. Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers
  8. Oversee health and safety systems and training
  9. Report orchard performance to company directors

Position: Horticulture Leading Hand

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead small teams in orchard tasks such as pruning and thinning
  2. Allocate daily tasks and monitor progress
  3. Train new workers on orchard procedures
  4. Ensure work is completed to quality standards
  5. Report issues to Site Manager or Orchard Manager
  6. Maintain tools and ensure safe use
  7. Assist with harvest coordination and bin placement
  8. Monitor worker attendance and productivity
  9. Support health and safety compliance

Position: Machinery Operator

Number of Positions: 2
Location: Katikati, Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour
Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience or Level 4 qualification
  • AND Valid driver’s license (Class 1) New Zealand or International

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operate tractors, sprayers, and mulchers in orchard blocks
  2. Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance
  3. Apply sprays and treatments as per orchard schedule
  4. Transport bins and equipment across orchard sites
  5. Follow GPS and mapping systems for precision tasks
  6. Maintain spray logs and machinery usage records
  7. Report faults or hazards to management
  8. Assist with irrigation and mowing tasks
  9. Ensure safe operation in all weather and terrain conditions
