Job Summary
Vehicle Painters prepare and paint motor vehicles, buses, trucks, and other automotive equipment. They ensure surfaces are properly treated, repaired, and finished to achieve high-quality paintwork and protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing vehicle surfaces by removing old paint, rust, and dirt.
- Repairing surface imperfections such as dents and scratches before painting.
- Masking and covering areas not to be painted.
- Mixing and matching paint colors according to specifications.
- Applying primers, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns and other painting
equipment. - Drying and curing painted surfaces using heat lamps or drying ovens.
- Polishing, sanding, and buffing painted surfaces to achieve a smooth, high-quality
finish. - Inspecting completed work for quality and accuracy.
- Maintaining tools, spray guns, and work areas in clean, safe condition.
- Following workplace health and safety regulations and environmental protection
standards
Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job
- NZQF Level 4 qualification
- At least three years of working experience in relevant industry
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Good understanding of vehicle paint systems and surface preparation.
- Ability to read and follow job orders and safety procedures.
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Strong awareness of workplace safety and environmental standards.
