BOTANY VEHICLE SERVICE 2004 LIMITED is seeking an experienced and reliable Automotive Electrician to join our team. We service a wide range of vehicles and provide electrical diagnostics, repairs and installations for our customers in the Botany and East Auckland area.

Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Hours per week: Minimum 30 hours
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Hourly rate: $28 to $35 depending on experience

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using diagnostic and test equipment to identify electrical and electronic faults.
  • Dismantling and removing electrical and electronic assemblies and components for repair or replacement.
  • Installing electrical equipment, accessories and electronic systems in motor vehicles.
  • Connecting power-operated equipment and accessories to vehicle power supply.
  • Adjusting and calibrating engine management and control systems.
  • Testing, repairing and replacing alternators, generators, starter motors, voltage regulators and related systems.
  • Repairing and replacing defective wiring, ignition systems, fuses, relays, switches and lighting.
  • Ensuring all work complies with safety and manufacturer specifications. 

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Level 4 or higher qualification in a relevant field, or minimum two years‘ relevant experience
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow fault-tracing procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
  • Competent with diagnostic tools and testing instruments.
  • Good problem solving and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
