Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience OR Level 4 relevant qualification.
  • Must be physically fit.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Must provide a CV.

 

Duties May Include:

  • To work in the classroom supporting students, under the supervision of a teacher.
  • To work with and support students who need extra help with their learning and or behaviour.
  • To run intervention programmes with students either in a small group or 1:1. These programmes may be to support both academic learning and/or social skills.
  • May at times work closely with the Team Leader and other agencies, like the MOE, RTLB, Social Workers that are assigned to the student/s they work with.
  • To attend meetings, in school time. LA meetings. IEP or RTLB meetings.
  • Attend any Teacher or Staff Only Days and participate in wider school events where needed. If these are after school, it will be negotiated.
  • To follow a daily timetable.
  • To support the class teacher with behaviour management and be expected to implement behaviour management strategies to support the students to be focussed, calm and on task.
  • To do duty each day at either at interval or lunchtime - organise a game or activity for a group while on lunchtime duty.
  • Work with the Teacher to prepare activities for individual children or small groups to help with their learning. Photocopy and laminate, keep resources stored in order and labelled-maintain the teaching and learning resources.
  • May aid children with special needs with basic tasks, including eating or personal hygiene/toileting.-May assist teachers with recordkeeping, such as calculating grades and doing simple assessments.
