Job Summary

Truck Drivers operate heavy vehicles to transport goods, materials, or equipment over short or long distances. They ensure the safe and timely delivery of cargo while complying with road safety regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vehicle Operation & Transportation

• Driving trucks to transport goods
• Planning and following the most efficient routes based on schedules and road conditions.
• Operating trucks and heavy combination vehicles.

2. Loading & Unloading

• Securing cargo properly using straps, chains, or tarps.
• Assisting with loading and unloading goods, ensuring weight distribution is safe and
compliant.
• Verifying delivery paperwork and ensuring correct items are loaded.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels.
• Ensuring compliance with NZ road transport laws, fatigue management regulations, and
weight limits.
• Reporting mechanical issues and arranging for truck maintenance when needed.

4. Documentation & Communication

• Communicating with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse teams regarding delivery
updates.

5. Customer Service & Problem-Solving

• Ensuring deliveries are made on time while maintaining professionalism with clients.
• Handling unexpected delays, route changes, or mechanical breakdowns efficiently.
• Reporting any incidents, accidents, or transport issues to the supervisor.

Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job

• Valid NZ Driver license in 5 class
• At least three years of working experience in relevant industry
• Work may involve early mornings, nights, and weekends
• Must be physically fit to handle loading, unloading, and long driving hours.
• Physical fitness and manual dexterity.
