Job Title: Vehicle Refinisher
Location: Dunedin, Otago Region
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Minimum 30 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $28–$38 per hour (depending on experience and skills)

 

About the Role:
We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Refinishers (5 positions) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in vehicle painting, wrapping, and detailing, with a keen eye for precision and quality. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are professionally prepared, wrapped, and finished to the highest standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Remove rough spots on vehicle panels
• Sand surfaces by hand and with power sanders
• Mask areas not to be wrapped using masking tape
• Colour-match and mix paints to match paint shades, and select pre-mixed paints
• Colour-match film to painted parts of the car and repair faded film with new film
• Select wrapping film to apply to vehicles, according to surface condition, customer requirements, and future usage
• Apply various chemicals and solutions to body surfaces before wrapping or tinting vehicles
• Touch up wrap work and apply polish to vehicles
• Remove masking papers, wax, and polish finished paintwork and wrapping film
• Remove wrapping film appropriately and treat surfaces previously covered by wrapping film
• Detail and create signs and artwork on vehicles using wrapping film, and occasionally paint
• Treat vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals

 

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will:
• Have at least two years of relevant experience in vehicle refinishing, wrapping, or detailing, or hold a relevant qualification at level 4 or above
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and precision in all tasks
• Work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards
• Be a reliable team player with a proactive and positive attitude
