We are looking for a Retail Manager with in-depth understanding of the Vacuum Cleaners and Vacuum Accessories trade in New Zealand. The Retail Manager is required to help us meet our revenue and profit growth targets by keeping our company competitive and innovative. You will be responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, and crafting marketing and procurement plans.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team, managing product mixes and stock levels for the showroom and the E-Commerce site

Design and implement Marketing, Sales and Procurement strategies for the showroom

Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs

Mentor and manage a team of Sales, Technical and Admin Staff for optimum performance

Monitor and gather market intelligence in relation to competitor activity, new product introduction and promotional activities. Proactively recommend practical and effective strategies to counter these moves

Manage day to day reconciliations of Point of Sales, Inventory & Sales Management, Online and EFTPOS systems for the showroom

Supervise the store particularly in relation to sales, invoicing, promotion and advertising. Stock control and maintain clear legible paperwork.

Ordering stock from suppliers, Determine new suppliers for sourcing new products, negotiating with suppliers on pricing and deliveries.

Determining product mix for the store, pricing and receipting into warehouse.

Formulate promotional advertising and marketing policies.

Carry out minor workshop repairs

Health and Safety compliance

On-going training of staff on all products in the store. Manage the first interview of any new job applicant, supervise staff and help them to reach their sales targets.

Plan, formulate and implement operational budget

Opening and closing of Store

Responsible for day to day balancing of daily transactions

Report to the National Sales Manager on day-to-day activities

Written report to the National Sales Manager on a weekly basis or as requested

Any other duties as reasonably required

Experience/Qualifications Required

Degree or above in Business or Commerce 

Minimum two years previous experience as Retail Manager including vacuum cleaner retail sales.

At least one year’s experience in online sales systems/Ecommerce.

A proven ability to meet retail sales targets.

Be fully committed to exceptional customer care and after service care

Have an expert level understanding of international vacuum cleaner brands and accompanying accessories.

Able to confidently demonstrate to customers, train sales staff and diagnose vacuum cleaner faults faults for the technical staff

Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization

Strong business sense and industry expertise to be able to achieve ambitious growth targets.

Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills

Employment is for a minimum of 40 hrs a week

Rostered Hours: Monday to Friday, between 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM & Saturday to Sunday between 9am to 4pm.

Pay rate offered is $32 to $34 per hour depending on experience plus commission

Applicants must be able to work weekends and public holidays
