About the Role

AAA Auto Repair Ltd / Northland Parts Warehouse is looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team in Whangārei. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a range of vehicles — from light cars to heavy-duty engines — as well as dismantling and recycling parts from accident-damaged or used vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles

  • Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and safety checks

  • Dismantle vehicles and extract usable parts for recycling or resale

  • Overhaul, adjust, and replace engines, transmissions, and other major components

  • Test and adjust repaired systems to ensure proper operation

  • Maintain accurate service and repair records

  • Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently

  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures

  • Work collaboratively with the workshop team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ proven experience as an automotive mechanic

  • Strong knowledge of light and heavy vehicle engines, transmissions, and mechanical systems

  • Experience dismantling, extracting, and recycling vehicle parts

  • Excellent communication skills and a positive team attitude

  • Able to work independently and diagnose faults accurately

  • Punctual, reliable, and willing to work weekends

  • Physically fit and safety-conscious
