About the Role
AAA Auto Repair Ltd / Northland Parts Warehouse is looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team in Whangārei. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a range of vehicles — from light cars to heavy-duty engines — as well as dismantling and recycling parts from accident-damaged or used vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- 
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles 
- 
Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and safety checks 
- 
Dismantle vehicles and extract usable parts for recycling or resale 
- 
Overhaul, adjust, and replace engines, transmissions, and other major components 
- 
Test and adjust repaired systems to ensure proper operation 
- 
Maintain accurate service and repair records 
- 
Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently 
- 
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures 
- 
Work collaboratively with the workshop team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers 
Skills and Experience
- 
Minimum 2–3 years’ proven experience as an automotive mechanic 
- 
Strong knowledge of light and heavy vehicle engines, transmissions, and mechanical systems 
- 
Experience dismantling, extracting, and recycling vehicle parts 
- 
Excellent communication skills and a positive team attitude 
- 
Able to work independently and diagnose faults accurately 
- 
Punctual, reliable, and willing to work weekends 
- 
Physically fit and safety-conscious
