Our client is looking for 8 experienced, class 5 truck drivers. The company is based in Auckland and requires drivers for its long-haul nation-wide route which covers Auckland to the South Island. This is a full time, permanent role with guaranteed minimum of 32 hours per week, Mon - Sun, on a roster based system. 

Responsibilities:

  • Navigate and manoeuvre heavy vehicles safely and accurately
  • Able to diagnose and troubleshoot minor issues such as punctured tyres
  • Input macros into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety measures, as well as company policy and procedures
  • Document and keep accurate records of work/rest periods, kilometres driven, and all fuel/toll receipts
  • Hold working knowledge of Health and Safety and Logbook requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • Heavy Vehicle / Truck license (Class 5 driver’s license in New Zealand or equivalent if you are offshore)
  • At least 1 year of experience in heavy truck driving and in operating manual gearbox
  • Must have completed high school or equivalent. 
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, early morning, late night and overnight shifts
  • Ability to travel for work (you will be required to drive New Zealand-wide, including from Auckland to Christchurch, Picton and Invercargill), and
  • Must pass pre-employment police, health and mandatory alcohol/drug testing pre and during employment
  • Be able to work in conditions that may be stressful including poor weather and heavy traffic
  • Be physically fit and healthy – able to lift heavy objects while loading and unloading in a safe manner
