CarpetGo Limited is looking for two experienced carpet layers to join our dedicated team to assist with high work volumes.

You will be responsible for preparing and installing types of soft and resilient floor coverings, assisting with existing and ongoing contracted work. You'll be expected to bring your knowledge, attention to detail, and leadership ability to ensure the highest standard of workmanship for clients.

Pay rate: from $29 to $35 per hour, depending on skills and/or relevant work experience

Days required: Monday to Saturday, between the hours of 8am to 6.30pm

Hours per week: At least 30 hours, maximum 60 hours per week

 

Job Description

  • Taking precise measurements, cutting carpet and resilient flooring to a professional standard
  • Preparing subfloors as required
  • Laying a variety of flooring products to plan and specification
  • Leading or mentoring junior team members where required
  • Uplifting and disposing of existing flooring materials
  • Applying adhesives and using specialized tools to seam, stretch, and secure flooring
  • Performing detailed trimming and fitting around obstacles, corners, and doorways
  • Ensuring all work sites are left clean and professional
  • Liaising with clients to ensure a high standard of service

 

Job Requirement

The ideal candidate will have: 

At least two years of relevant work experience, or NZQF level 4 qualification

Strong knowledge of different flooring products and installation methods

Proficiency with industry-standard tools and equipment (knee kickers, power stretchers, seam rollers, etc.)

Ability to work independently and problem solve on-site

Good communication and leadership skills

Reliability and strong time management

Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to meet project deadlines.

Hold a current full driver’s licence
