IYRA Thai Massage is looking for experienced Thai Massage Therapists to join the team.

Requirements 

The successful applicants must have one of the following requirements.

• At least 2 years of experience working in an authentic Thai Massage business, OR

• A related qualification (at NZ Register Certificate level 4 or higher, overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification), OR

• The National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 (Traditional Thai Massage) from Thailand

Job Descriptions

Specific Tasks

  • Apply pressure to the specific point of the body, using different techniques to ensure relaxation, better circulation and heal muscle tension 

  • Provide clients with guidance and information about techniques for postural improvement and stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and rehabilitative exercises. 

  • Massage muscles and soft tissues of the body to provide treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance. 

  • Provide massage treatment to enhance sports performance and prevent injury 

  • Assess clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion and provide a plan for the treatment or rehabilitation advice 

  • Provide other adjunctive therapies or treatment techniques in addition to Thai Deep Tissue Massage. 

General Tasks

  • Greeting customers when they come to our premises

  • Discussing/explaining the full details of traditional Thai Massage and answering any customer questions

  • Setting up for the start of business at the beginning of each day

  • Ensuring that premises are clean and tidy at all times/linens are washed etc

  • Taking bookings – via phone, website and walk-ins

  • Closing down the business when the owner or a manager is absent

  • Being responsible for building security when the owner or a manager is absent 

 

Other detail 

  •  This is a full-time and permanent position.
  • The wage rate ranges from $26.50 to $35.00 per hour, depending on your skills and experience. You will be paid weekly.

  • Holiday pay and sick leave will be provided in accordance with New Zealand employment law.

  • You will be working in Auckland at one of the following three locations:

  1. Hillary House: Shop 9, 1 Alice Avenue, Orewa, Auckland
  2. Pinehill Branch: Unit P, 6 Rosedale Road, Pinehill, Auckland

  3. Silverdale Branch: 4A Silverdale Street, Silverdale

  • The business operates Monday to Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. You will work according to a roster, 5–6 days per week, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 48 hours per week.
