Key tasks and responsibilities:
• Recording all financial transactions that occur within the business, which may include sales, purchases, expenses, income, and any other monetary transactions.
• Conducting reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis
• Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding reference, and processing payments
• Ensuring that the accounts are up to date, accurate, and balanced
• Continuously tracking the movement of cash into and out of the business, as well as managing any lines of credit the business may have to ensure that cash flow remains healthy and debts are managed effectively.
• Utilizing various tools and software to organize and manage financial data efficiently, including maintaining account ledgers manually or using modern accounting software.
• Compiling and presenting financial statements in various formats such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, by summarizing and analyzing financial records.
• Generating invoices for goods or services provided to customers, creating purchase orders for procurement, and making bank deposits to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
• Comparing the transactions recorded in the accounting system with the information provided in monthly bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
• Reviewing financial records to identify any errors or inconsistencies and reporting them to management for investigation and correction.
• Completing and submitting necessary tax forms to report the business's tax liabilities and entitlements accurately, such as Goods and Services Tax (GST) payments and collections.
• Conducting regular analysis of profit, loss, cost, budget, income, and expenses, using both manual and digital accounting systems, to monitor business performance and support decision-making
• Prepare end-of-month, quarterly, and annual financial statements through the collection, analysis, and summarization of data
• Reporting company’s financial position regularly to management.
• Interpreting and applying accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with New Zealand’s applicable standards.
• Any other duties the employer may reasonably require the employee to perform.
Pay rate: Minimum $30/ hour Maximum $35/ hour
Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours, permanent full-time
Requirements for the job:
· You should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience; business management, financial management, accounting, or bookkeeping fields will be considered relevant.
