As a Cook, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks to the highest standards, including but not limited to the following:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of food items.
- Examine food stuffs to ensure freshness and quality standards are maintained.
- Operate and regulate ovens, stoves and other cooking equipment at appropriate temperatures.
- Season food during cooking to achieve authentic taste and flavour.
- Portion dishes and add gravies, sauces and garnishes for presentation.
- Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities.
- Prepare meals to meet specific dietary requirements when necessary.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure continuous kitchen operations.
- May plan menu and estimate food requirements to enhance menu requirements.
- May train and supervise kitchen staff ensuring efficient workflow and teamwork.
- Adhere to hygiene and safety regulations in line with New Zealand health and safety guidelines.
- Undertake additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Manager to support the efficient operation of the kitchen.
Qualification, Experience, and Attributes Required:
- At least 4 years relevant work experience as Cook or Chef.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays as required.
- Availability to work late nights.
- Ability to multitask and strong team player.
Pay and Benefit
- Hourly rate ranges between $23.50 – $23.50.
