Floor Finisher – Wood and Carpet

This role is for NZ citizens or resident visa holders only, Employer is not providing support in visa.

We are looking for 2 x full-time permanent Floor Finisher – Wood and Carpet to join our company in Auckland. 

You'll be responsible for: 

• Measure, cut, and install wood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet flooring materials to required specifications.

• Prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, and repairing surfaces before installation.

• Sand, stain, and polish wooden floors using appropriate tools and finishes.

• Lay underlays and adhesives, and ensure proper alignment and fitting of flooring materials.

• Trim and fit flooring around obstacles such as walls, doorways, and fixtures.

• Remove old flooring materials and dispose of them in accordance with health and safety standards.

• Inspect completed work for quality assurance and make necessary adjustments.

• Operate and maintain hand and power tools such as sanders, saws, and nailers.

• Follow site safety procedures and comply with company policies and building regulations.

• Collaborate with site supervisors, builders, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.

• Number of positions for this job:  2

• Pay rate: $23.50per hour 

• Days required: 5 days/week (must be available on Saturday or Sunday if required) 

• Hours per week: at least 30, maximum 55 hours/week 

About You 

• Relevant Bachelor or above qualification AND at least five years of work experience in floor installation & finishing OR carpentry is required

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• High degree of accuracy 

• Attention to detail with an excellent work ethic 

• A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team 

• Proven ability to priorities tasks to ensure those are completed effectively and efficiently.
