We are looking for Site Supervisors / Orchard Supervisors who can immediately join us for carrying out the daily operations of our business in Bay of Plenty. Successful candidates should be capable of keeping up with a physically demanding role and ability to work rostered as per the work demand between 30 hours to maximum 45 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance & Administration:
    1. Receive daily duty rosters and work plans from the Business/Office Manager;distribute them to the team and submit completed time records and timesheets for payroll and invoicing.
    2. Attending health & safety meetings and to promote and enforce workplace health & safety practices in line with company and regulatory requirements.
    3. Keep company records confidential and protect the company brand name in the market.
  2. Workforce & Team Leadership:
    1. Determine labour requirements and allocate staff efficiently across orchard blocks and sites.
    2. Supervising team leaders (one or multiple teams) and managing labour activities across horticultural worksites, including but not limited to apple, stone fruit, grape, and squash operations.
    3. Handle employees’ complaints in an ethical manner.
  3. Orchard Operations & Production
    1. Ability to lead a team of horticulture workers to achieve the set targets of the business and manage daily field operations of the business.
    2. Supervise staff and carry out the soil preparation activities and suggest ensuring that the latest methods are utilised.
    3. Ensure that the teams are equipped to deliver seasonal orchard operations, including planting, thinning, pruning, and harvesting.
    4. Monitor crop performance and provide input to management on irrigation, fertilisation, and pest control.
    5. Maintain accurate records of crop yields, harvest volumes, and production costs.
    6. Liaise with contractors, labour, and management to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.
  4. Monitoring & Reporting
    1. Conduct regular site visits to monitor staff output, attendance, and performance.
    2. Report to management on progress of the orchard operations, compliance, health and safety adherence, and other matters as directed.
  5. Logistics & Staff Support
    1. Coordinate with office management to arrange field staff transport, accommodation, and other logistical needs.
    2. Any other task given by the director/manager when required.

Skills, Experience and Other Requirements:

  • Clean New Zealand driver’s license (or an overseas driving license that can be converted on arrival) with full assistance from the employer and willingness to travel across multiple orchard sites.
  • Relevant Qualification at NZQA Level 4 or above (preferred, but not essential).
  • Previous experience in any supervisory, team-leading, or coordination roles in agriculture, horticulture, hospitality, retail, or related industries will be an added advantage, but not mandatory.
  • No criminal conviction history.
  • Must be drug free
