Position details:

  • Length of employment: Full time and permanent
  • Hourly rate: $30 -$40 per hour
  • Hours: 30-40 hours per week (Minimum 30 hours guaranteed).

We are an Auckland based business providing a range of services including car servicing and repairing, tyre repairing, inspection and replacement, panel beating, painting and WOF inspection. In addition, we import and purchase vehicles domestically, and markets used vehicles. As part of the continued growth plan and business expansion, we now need some panel beaters to join our team.

Key duties:

  • Remove damaged panels and parts, as well as remove upholstery and accessories to gain access to damaged areas.
  • Repair dents by hammering panels to restore original shape.
  • Straighten damaged vehicle frames and parts using mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
  • Replace severely damaged sections with new or second-hand panels as needed.
  • Fill surface depressions with plastic filler, then file, grind, and sand the repaired areas to a smooth finish.
  • Cut and join replacement sections using welding equipment.
  • Fit repaired or replacement panels to vehicles and refit body hardware such as door locks, handles, trims, and moldings.
  • Assist vehicle body builders in constructing or restoring custom-designed, vintage, and specialty vehicles.
  • May perform spray-painting to refinish repaired surfaces or entire vehicles.

Requirements for this job:

  • At least two years relevant work experience or a NZQF Level 4 qualification in relevant filed is required for the candidates.
  • Drug free with clean police record
